The resurgence of Yeezy: Is this Adidas and Yeezy's last dance?

"The numbers speak for themselves. We are currently not performing the way we should", said newly-appointed Adidas CEO Bjørn Gulden in a recent press release.

"2023 will be a year of transition to set the base to again be a growing and profitable company. We need to put the pieces back together again, but I am convinced that over time we will make Adidas shine again. But we need some time."

Between February and May, the world saw multiple sources stating that Yeezy and Adidas would not be over.  An anxious few months were in store for Yeezy fans who demanded their favourite brand back. Eventually, however, they got their answer. For a moment, it appeared there could be a chance the Adidas and the Yeezy brand would reunite. But at least for now, it is confirmed they will remain separate entities and Yeezy would sell the rest of what is apparently left over Adidas Yeezy stock and the planned 2022 and 2023 releases.

  

  

Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 "Carbon Beluga" 

The Yeezy Boost 350 V2 "Carbon Beluga" is a remix of the original "Beluga" colourway that originally debuted in 2016. The upper is composed of a grey and black Primeknit material with a reflective stripe on the lateral side. The midsole is also grey accenting the busier upper half of the shoe. This restock of the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 "Zebra" features a White/Core Black/Red colour scheme as stated by Adidas. It is one of the most iconic colourways of the silhouette. The upper is made of a white and black Primeknit material with the zebra-like pattern we are all used to. The lateral side has the trademark Yeezy red SPLY-350 text on it. The midsole is translucent and fitted with Boost cushioning technology. The Zebra colourway will forever be a great shoe for the summer offering style, hype and comfort.

 

What is next for Yeezy? 

 

It looks like Kanye will continue to sell Yeezy products independently as he is the sole owner of the YEEZY brand. Ye has already created a new Yeezy clothing collection that includes tight T-shirts and a distinct lack of shoes which suggests that Ye would be going in on the clothing side of the Yeezy brand. 

 

The end of Adidas and Yeezy does not mean the end of the hype however, Yeezys are still comfortable and stylish and offer a premium look to your outfit. The latest Yeezy sale proved this as items sold out even though there was apparently a high quantity of stock.
