R&B singer and dancer, Teyana Taylor has had a significant impact on style and fashion, particularly in the realms of music, streetwear, and athleticism. Her unique blend of urban, gender-creative-inspired looks with a touch of high fashion has made her a style icon for many.

The New York native has partnered with other companies in the industry, but her linkup with Jordan Brand seems more fitting given her personal style and commitment to Harlem.

Previously in October 2020, Teyana Taylor collaborated with Reebok and released her own signature sneaker. The shoe was a women's-exclusive version of Allen Iverson's iconic Reebok Question Mid basketball shoe, featuring a luxurious mix of materials that make up a bold red monochromatic colourway that is accentuated by an icy outsole. The shoe also showcased unique details like a removable velcro strap and metallic accents.

Now in 2023 Teyana Taylor teams up with Air Jordan to modify the Air Jordan 1

Designed via a “Rose from Harlem” concept, the modified Air Jordan 1 by Taylor features the iconic “Chicago” color scheme, but with personalised touches. For starters, “TEY” replaces traditional branding on the left shoe’s tongue label, furthermore, profile swooshes are adorned with zig-zag stitching that evokes the rose-like swooshes elsewhere on the pair. “A Rose from Harlem” messaging lands on the ankle flaps’ undersides, while the custom shoe box also references Taylor’s concept. Lastly, the reworked sole unit, using Formula 23 foam underfoot opts for a two-tone outsole that matches the remainder of the Air Jordan Zoom CMFT.
