Since its exclusive release in Japan in 2001, the Nike Dunk Low Plum has established itself as a lucrative iteration of the iconic silhouette. Originally featured in the renowned Ugly Duckling Pack, the Plum colourway quickly gained a cult following. Its significance endured over the years, playing a pivotal role in the resurgence of the Nike Dunk Low almost two decades after its original early 2000s release. Following the footsteps of the beloved Brazil iteration, Nike enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the return of the Dunk Low Plum in the coming year, poised to reignite nostalgia once again.

Staying true to its 2020 retro release, the upcoming iteration of the Dunk Low Plum promises a tribute to its original design and colour palette. Rich, deep purple suede swathes the mudguard, eye stays, and heel, proving nostalgia for its iconic look. A lighter shade of purple complements the suede toebox and quarter panel, adding depth to the silhouette. Vibrant red accents adorn the laces, tongue tag, Swoosh, and heel tab, injecting a bold contrast against the purples. Meanwhile, a delicate lavender hue features the mesh tongue and collar, infusing a touch of elegance. Completing the rerelease, a crisp white midsole grounds the design while a striking red outsole adds a final flourish, ensuring that this rendition of the Dunk Low Plum remains a standout piece once again.

When these dropped back in the day, fans in the West were left a little sad and a little left out (it still hurts just thinking about it). But it looks as if, finally, this patience is being treated as a virtue as the Nike Dunk Low ‘Plum’ is officially getting its global release next week.
