Easter 2024 is right around the corner so we decided to go on a little bit of an easter egg hunt for the best Easter themed sneakers of all time
Bad Bunny x adidas Forum Buckle Low ‘Easter Egg’ (2021)
Bad Bunny has been on a crazy run recently and in 2021 this was no exception. The Easter Egg forums emerge in a pastel peach hue, a welcome addition to Adidas' palette. Accentuating the design, the brand introduces blush pink suede Three Stripes along the outer foot, while the chunky gum sole receives a vibrant watermelon fusion, creating a playful twist. Echoing the ethos of Bad Bunny's inaugural Adidas collaboration, the phrase "Yo Visto Así," translating to "I dress like this," completes the significance of the sneakers, paying homage to one of the Puerto Rican artist's most resonant tracks. True to form, the Forum's signature ankle buckle remains, while Adidas introduces interchangeable pastel blue and green laces, offering a customizable touch.
Jordan 11 Retro Low "Emerald Easter"
When it comes to Jordan 11s, a shiny patent mudguard is a familiar sight, but the Easter rendition of the classic silhouette stood out for its easter egg inspired iridescent hue. Complemented by pristine white uppers, it retained all the quintessential Air Jordan 11 features, from chunky rope laces to the iconic Jumpman branding. Adding to the allure, an icy outsole mirrored the iridescent glow of the upper, completing the ensemble with a touch of ethereal easter vibes. Upon their 2018 release, these sneakers swiftly flew off shelves, testament to their collectible status.
Pharrell x adidas Hu NMD 'Chocolate’
In the prime of the Pharrell x adidas collaboration, the Hu NMDs emerged as an extremely well coveted and high priced commodity, igniting hype among sneakerheads. Yet, in recent years, their joint ventures have seen a gradual decline in fervour. However, this downturn hasn't dulled the brilliance of their colour palettes, as evidenced by the unveiling of the 'Chocolate' edition in 2020. Featuring a delectable blend of brown PrimeKnit and a chocolate-hued BOOST midsole, these sneakers offer not just style but also comfort, making them an ideal choice for a cosy Easter morning stroll.
Nike dunk low SE easter and Nike Dunk Low Easter
Crafted from premium full leather, both Dunk Lows epitomises refined skating style, featuring a pristine light gray and pink foundation accentuated by lilac leather overlays adorning the toe box and lacing system respectfully. The iconic Swooshes graces the lateral and medial sides, dipped in a refreshing lemon-inspired yellow hue. Adding a delightful touch, the "Nike" branding on the tongue tag and heel badge, along with the rubber outsole, gleam in a charming pale vanilla tone. Nike definitely knows a thing or two on how to create the most egg-cellent Easter-inspired sneakers and these are no exception at all.

The Samba enjoyed some dominance off the back of 2022 going into 2023, but it’s two cousins the Spezial and Gazelle have seemed to want in on the popularity contest the Samba is currently gunning for gold medal in. The question you are probably sitting with then is:
“What is the difference? And Which one should I buy?”
The answer is here:
(well kind of)
The spike in demand for 2023’s hottest sneaker is a result of a slow burn of retro love over the past few years that has seen its popularity increase. With its mix of old-school vibes and clean lines, the Samba has shown that three stripes and a gum sole is all you really need to complete your sneaker collection.
Over the course of its 73-year history, the Samba has undergone numerous transformations, each iteration refining its performance and style. One notable version is the Samba Spezial, introduced in 1982, which elevated the shoe's functionality. Featuring a shock-absorbent wedge and a multi-stud outsole, the Spezial was specifically engineered to excel on slippery winter surfaces, providing athletes with
more stability and grip. This evolution epitomizes Adidas' commitment to innovation and continuous improvement, ensuring that the Samba remains a timeless icon of athletic footwear. The Handball Spezial has become quite popular in the last 6 months as more vibrant colours adorn the silhouette in a wide variety of releases. The suede upper which is also one of the key differences between the Samba and Spezial as the Samba features a full leather upper with suede only featuring on the toe area, allows for these bright colours to pop significantly more than the more muted, cleaner look you would get from Sambas.
For those drawn to bold, modern hues, choices like fiery fire engine-red or striking cobalt blue, accented with contrasting stripes, the Spezial is probably the one for you.
Now moving onto the third cousin which is a derivative from the iconic Gazelle training shoe, the Gazelle Indoor is a special variant tailored for indoor use. This adaptation is most apparent in its robust gum rubber sole, added to provide better traction on slick timber flooring typically found indoors such as Futsal courts. The sole's design features a pattern alternating between the original adidas Trefoil logo and circular pivot points, ensuring stability during dynamic movements. Despite its indoor-oriented design, the Gazelle Indoor remains equally proficient for its anticipated urban environment, seamlessly blending functionality with vintage style.
The Indoor gazelle blends the sleek, flatter shape and tones associated with the Samba and the chunkier, more vibrant Spezial into something pretty special but not so Spezial.

Originally featured in the renowned Ugly Duckling Pack, the Plum colourway quickly gained a cult following. Its significance endured over the years, playing a pivotal role in the resurgence of the Nike Dunk Low almost two decades after its original early 2000s release. Following the footsteps of the beloved Brazil iteration, Nike enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the return of the Dunk Low Plum in the coming year, poised to reignite nostalgia once again.
Since its exclusive release in Japan in 2001, the Nike Dunk Low Plum has established itself as a lucrative iteration of the iconic silhouette. Originally featured in the renowned Ugly Duckling Pack, the Plum colourway quickly gained a cult following. Following the footsteps of the beloved Brazil iteration, Nike enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the return of the Dunk Low Plum in the coming year, poised to reignite nostalgia once again.
Staying true to its 2020 retro release, the upcoming iteration of the Dunk Low Plum promises a tribute to its original design and colour palette. Rich, deep purple suede swathes the mudguard, eye stays, and heel, proving nostalgia for its iconic look. A lighter shade of purple complements the suede toebox and quarter panel, adding depth to the silhouette. Vibrant red accents adorn the laces, tongue tag, Swoosh, and heel tab, injecting a bold contrast against the purples. Meanwhile, a delicate lavender hue features the mesh tongue and collar, infusing a touch of elegance. Completing the rerelease, a crisp white midsole grounds the design while a striking red outsole adds a final flourish, ensuring that this rendition of the Dunk Low Plum remains a standout piece once again.
When these dropped back in the day, fans in the West were left a little sad and a little left out (it still hurts just thinking about it). But it looks as if, finally, this patience is being treated as a virtue as the Nike Dunk Low ‘Plum’ is officially getting its global release next week.

Among the earliest releases was the Hot Step Air Terra, which got loads of attention with its futuristic take on Nike footwear. Now, the partnership is set to continue its momentum with the upcoming release of the NOCTA x Nike Hot Step 2.
Drake himself teased the Hot Step 2 during his It's All A Blur tour alongside 21 Savage, giving us a glimpse of what's to come. Recently, a detailed breakdown of the new model has surfaced, providing insight into its design and features. The reveal showcases the "Total Orange" colourway, which is bloated by sleek linework that accentuates the upper. Chrome detailing which has become quite a popular choice with Drake dominates the side panels, while identical chrome Swooshes swarm the toe, lateral, medial, and heel portions. The dominant orange hue sets the tone for the sneaker, with co-branding accents on the tongue and sock liner adding to its status as a Nocta collab.

Another iconic colourway of the Air Jordan 4 is set to make a return next month. If reports from trusted sneaker leakers are anything to go by, the much-beloved "Military Blue" iteration is gearing up for a comeback, stirring excitement and anticipation among sneakerheads worldwide. The anticipation of it being an SB Air Jordan 4 sets this one apart
According to reputable sources, the resurgence of the "Military Blue" Air Jordan 4 is imminent. The sneaker is expected to adhere closely to the original specifications, including the coveted "Nike Air" branding emblazoned on the heel tab.
Diverging from the alterations seen in other retros like the "Bred" Air Jordan 4, which returned with a leather upper instead of its traditional nubuck, the 2024 rendition of the "Military Blue" variant promises a faithful homage to its roots. Envisioned through mock-up depictions provided by the leak accounts, the forthcoming retro boasts a classic make-up—a pristine white leather construction holding the upper, complemented by a grey mudguard at the forefoot, and accented with striking blue hues on the eyestay, tongue, and midsole.
Furthermore, catering to the diverse tastes of sneakerheads, the "Military Blue" Air Jordan 4 is set to be available in full-family sizing, ensuring that this release reaches all.
Originally introduced in 1989, the "Military Blue" Air Jordan 4 quickly garnered acclaim for its distinctive design and timeless appeal. After its initial release, the style was reintroduced to eager fans in 2006, followed by another resurgence in 2012, marking its last availability on the market.
Despite the lack of official images, leaked mock-up depictions have offered us a preview of another speculated design of the "Oxidized Green" Air Jordan 4. The silhouette is a nice alternitove to the Pine Green Jordan 4 from last year. Expected to feature a pristine white-based upper adorned with accents of dark green on the tongue, heel tab, and midsole that is complemented by grey eyelets, this color scheme promises to deliver a visually striking aesthetic that pays homage to the iconic Air Jordan 4 silhouette. As we have said before, this year is definitely the year Jordan brand is trying to push the Air Jordan 4 silhoette more than ever before. Leakes of gold and yellow rendition as well releasing in women’s sizing proves this motive. With retro running shoes dominating the sneaker market right now, it makes sense for Jordan Brand to push their most popular silhouette of recent. The chunkier more retro futuristic style of the Air Jordan 4 seems to stay winning right now in todays ever changing style market.
As anticipation builds however , mark your calendars for the rumoured release window which looks to be Autumn 2024 for the Military Blue and Spring 2024 for the Oxidized Green colourway.

In a bold move for 2024, MSCHF has introduced a fresh contender to the footwear scene: their rendition of the classic Timberland boot. This latest offering, aptly dubbed the MSCHF "Timbs" boot, commands attention with its bold presence, reminiscent of its predecessor but with a noticeable twist. The exaggerated proportions, reminiscent of something straight out of Roblox showcase an outsized upper that challenges traditional norms. It’s something bold and cartoonish which is right on brand for MSCHF.

Deciphering the essence of MSCHF proves challenging, as it intricately mirrors the zeitgeist, refusing brand categorization. Their enigmatic presence, evident on their website and even on LinkedIn where they humorously brand themselves as a dairy company, prompts questions about their identity. Is MSCHF an e-commerce hub, a marketing entity, an artistic collective, or a satire of capitalism? Yet, the paramount query remains: what drives their purpose, and what are their intentions towards us, the intrigued onlookers?
Established in 2018, MSCHF has gained renown for its knack for crafting viral and contentious products and endeavours, igniting public perception and garnering substantial media buzz. Blending art, commerce, and technology, MSCHF aims to craft distinctive and contemplative designs that challenge conventional norms and scrutinize our consumerist tendencies. Through their ways, MSCHF aspires to disrupt the status quo and provoke critical contemplation of our surroundings. Operating primarily via their website, they unveil a new "drop" or "product" every fortnight, perpetuating their cycle of innovation and intrigue.
Drawing inspiration from the iconic Louis Vuitton blossom, the eyelets and toe box designs of the MSCHF timbs boot pay homage to a legacy in luxury fashion. This nod to Louis Vuitton's signature motif, famously adorning their esteemed handbags and more recently, Pharrell's Louis Vuitton x Timberland boots, offers a nice throwback for fans. While the resemblance might suggest MSCHF's penchant for playful spoofing, it's worth noting their previous collaboration with Pharrell, evidenced by the miniature rendition of the Louis Vuitton OnTheGo handbag featured in the "Just Phriends" Joopiter auction of 2023. Though any overt co-branding moments on the shoe remain elusive, the unpredictable nature of MSCHF leaves room for speculation and anticipation, with their latest creation, the wild Timbs, currently stealing the spotlight.
And if they are gifting pairs to designer Don C, who was first to reveal the MSCHF Timbs on March 4, MSCHF's probably going to release its Timbs boots in the future.
With the pairs already out in the world and generating buzz, something tells me that a launch isn't far off.

What was once dismissed as "ugly dad shoes" has become coveted streetwear essentials, crucially made bigger by the enduring popularity of models like the NB 550 and the 2002R. However, amidst this ongoing success, whispers now circulate about a new silhouette on the horizon, the New Balance 1906R.

The resurgence of retro sneakers has been a defining trend in the ever-evolving landscape of footwear fashion, and currently leading the charge is the iconic New Balance 2002R alongside some of the Asics misfits. Originally reborn and introduced years ago, this classic silhouette was plucked from the archives by the innovative minds at New Balance, who saw its potential as a blank canvas for collaboration. In 2020, the brand opened the floodgates, inviting esteemed collaborators like Salehe Bembury, thisisneverthat, and Invincible to infuse unique visions into the design. These partnerships ignited creativity, with each rendition adding a fresh twist to the beloved silhouette.
Among the most celebrated iterations was the "Protection Pack," dubbed the 2002R "Refined Future," Following in its wake, a slew of other projects emerged, ranging from high-profile collaborations with streetwear giants like BAPE and The Basement to understated yet stylish releases from brands like Auralee. Additionally, the 2002R saw an increase in general release colourways, ensuring that its appeal remained broad and accessible to all.
The Origin
Alright, so picture this: the New Balance 1906R isn't exactly a newbie in the sneaker scene. It's like the OG, the original member of the NB family. Back in 2010, its cousin, the 2002, strutted onto the scene, boasting all the bells and whistles of a luxury running shoe. What's funny is, it rocked the same full-length gel midsole that made the 1906 stand out. Coincidence? Not quite. See, the 1906 was the OG, the blueprint that inspired the 2002 to be what it was. From tip to toe, the sleek shape and breathable mesh of the 1906 seamlessly carried over to its stylish successor, the 2002. So, when you're rocking those 2002s, just remember, they owe their swag to the OG 1906.
With the addition of the "R" to its name denoting its contemporary update, the New Balance 1906R undergoes some subtle yet significant modifications making it some sort of a confusing Frankenstein monster that is actually beautiful. Notably, the ABZORB gel cushioning unit now resides solely beneath the heel, mirroring the design of its cousin/cousin, the 2002R. To enhance performance and support, New Balance incorporates its signature N-ergy and Stability Web technologies into the design. Interestingly, the midsole of the 1906R draws inspiration from the New Balance 860V2, which hit the shelves a year after the debut of the 2002. As a result, wearers can feel the same lightweight feel and plush cushioning that has become associated with the brand.

We all know that the streetwear industry is currently undergoing quite a large transition in terms of “what is cool” - is it understated quiet luxury? Is it blokecore? Is it gorp? Is the blatant answer just a New Balance? The unfortunate truth is that we don't really know ourselves however our egos like to think we have pretty good premonitions about 2024 so let's hear what some of the guys collectively think.
2024 WILL be a better year for sneakers than 2023
Starting off with a bit of a blind optimistic take yes.. But hear us out it has substance.
2023 was a pretty uninspiring year for sneakers. Resell prices dramatically dropped, Air Jordan 1s were sitting and overall hype around releases just never seemed to captivate the movement as much as it used to. There were some really standout releases such as the Air Jordan SB “Pine Green” and the J Balvin x Air Jordan 3 but other than that, it was quite bland. The over saturation of the Nike Dunk was a huge antagonistic reason for this and to the sneaker community as we know it. Large numbers of recycled colourways with little to no creativity and extremely poor quality control was almost a trend for Nike throughout the past year. In all fairness, as mentioned before 2023 felt like a transitional year, it was a year of old styles and trends dying out while new styles slowly emerged and set the foundation for the following year. This is one of the main reasons we feel 2024 may actually be a banger. Already we have had the reimagined version of the Bred AJ4 which continues the SB AJ4 lifespan, we have also had many leaks for more collabs revolving New Balance, Asics and the Indoor Gazelle which are all things good to come out of the 2023. Brands such as Corteiz have really set the tone for more rag tag streetwear brands to push and go big or go home, we hope to see a lot of this continue as well in the next couple months, its honestly exciting times.
Broken Planet will explode in 2024
Leading perfectly off the last point is a prime example of the influence Clint419 has had on the industry. It's safe to say Broken Planet currently owns fashion TikTok. Almost every reel these guys post gets a surplus of views; it's actually a joke. Currently amassing over 600k and 500k followers on instagram and Tik Tok respectively Broken Planet are cooking something very very special. Led by partners Lukas Žvikas and Indrė Narbutaitė, they have swiftly risen to prominence as one of the U.K.'s premier streetwear brands and one of the fastest growing brands of recent memory. Their innovative fusion of inspirations drawn from outer space and American hip-hop culture has resonated strongly with audiences, reflected in their oversized, graphic-heavy designs and smart TikTok-focused marketing strategies. Beyond merely offering trendy apparel, Broken Planet is on a mission to educate its younger demographic about the importance of global sustainability. This commitment is pretty evident when we have a look at their emphasis on utilising recycled materials in production and using eco-conscious shipping practices. The brand has further plans to expand with new explorations across outerwear along with interactive pop-up stores and a “Broken Planet Foundation” charity that has plans to help disadvantaged communities across the world… Seriously good job.
The Air Max Dn is Nike’s answer to New Balance and it will work
New Balance arguably had their best modern era year to date in 2023. Growth charts of sales were exponential for the Boston based brand as they saw a 25% increase in sales reaching $6.5 Billion in total. Other highlighted standout victories such as sponsored athlete Coco Gauff clinching her inaugural Grand Slam championship at the US Open drove the New Balance motive forward. This triumph not only solidified Gauff's status as a rising tennis star but also brought considerable acclaim to the New Balance brand in terms of performance. Furthermore, strategic partnerships with prominent athletes like Kawhi Leonard and Shohei Ohtani further bolstered New Balance's reputation and appeal, particularly among younger people. These signings plus streetwear and lifestyle collaborations with designers such as Salehe Bembury not only enhance the brand's visibility but also align New Balance on its already upwards trajectory of being a dominant force in the industry.
Nike have played their cards pretty well in order to combat this recent New Balance success. Unfortunately, the Air Max 1 and 90 have seen a stark decline in popularity. Once legendary silhouettes have even temporarily fallen from grace. On the flip side the Air max 95 and TN plus has soared in popularity over the past 24 months. Nike have identified this and created something that carries on that Euro-Step running flair.
For Air Max Day 2024, Nike has come up with the Air Max Dn, a supposed revolutionary sneaker poised to redefine the experience of walking on Air. Leveraging on Nike’s cutting-edge research and technology, the Air Max Dn brings back what represents the pinnacle of the footwear cushioning revolution. Central to its design is the introduction of Dynamic Air, a groundbreaking feature realised through a four-tubed Nike Air unit crafted to deliver maximum comfort, smooth strides, and as Nike say “exceptional interactive bounce.” Beyond the marketing jargon, the Air max Dn is a pretty good looking sneaker and already has some hype associated with its name thanks to Supreme. Clint419, who we all know by now is the founder of Corteiz, recently took to Instagram to unveil the second pair of the Supreme x Nike Air Max Dn collaboration. Dubbed the "Silver Bullet '' edition, this one will pay homage to the iconic Nike Air Max 97 silhouette, renowned for its legendary silver bullet colourway. We can easily see this silhouette becoming a trend in 2024, especially if rumours around the next Corteiz x Air max 95 is true.
We need to talk about the Air Jordan 4 SB (Again)
For many the Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 'Pine Green' distinguished itself as the perfect AJ4 as it addresses some key issues such as with a wider fit, a characteristic trait reminiscent of skate shoes. This unique feature not only enhances comfort but also pays homage to the roots of the Nike SB line. Many thought that this may be a once off a very rare occurrence for Jordan Brand, akin to when they take the AJ1 under the knife. This seems to not be the case however with three apparent Air Jordan 4 SB releases being confirmed for 2024 with one being the Bred reimagined that released last month. It’s safe to say that the Air Jordan 4 is going to have a stellar year, as Jordan Brand has seemed to transfer Jordan 1 hype over to the Jordan 4 silhouette quite successfully. Another A Ma Maniere collab is also on the horizon cementing the SB AJ4 as a prime runner for silhouette of the year at the end of the calendar pages.
Some of our most anticipated sneaker releases of 2024:
Action Bronson x New Balance 1906R
Futura x Nike SB Dunk Low
Travis Scott’s signature sneaker
Trophy Room x Air Jordan 1 Low
A Ma Maniere x AJ4 and AJ3
Air Jordan 11 “Columbia”
Air Jordan 4 “Military Blue”
CDG x Nike Air Max TL

In 2024, the spotlight in the sneaker world looks to be heading its bright lights on the Air Jordan 4 as it commemorates its 35th anniversary with an apparent flurry of special releases. This iconic silhouette, beloved by sneakerheads worldwide, looks to be bettering itself every year with a catalogue of more releases. The return of the Nike SB variant of the Air Jordan 4 adds another layer of excitement to the mix, reviving a trend that garnered immense popularity last year. The months ahead look to be an extremely influential time period for the AJ4.
The Air Jordan 4, renowned for Tinker Hatfield’s innovative design, debuted in four distinct colorways throughout its inaugural years following 1989. Most notably including the iconic 'Black Cement' colourway famously worn by Michael Jordan during 'The Shot' in 1989. It was in a crucial game against the Cleveland Cavaliers that Jordan clinched victory donning the very 'Black Cement' sneakers that would forever etch themselves into basketball folklore. Beyond its on-court triumphs, the Air Jordan 4 soared in popularity, becoming a symbol of athletic prowess and style made famous by Jordan himself.
The silhouette made a memorable appearance in Spike Lee's seminal film "Do the Right Thing," where actor Giancarlo Esposito's character laments the scuffing of his pristine white Air Jordan 4s in an unforgettable scene, cementing the sneaker's place in both sports history and pop culture.
Hatfield's design for the Air Jordan 4 is distinguished by its innovative features, prominently showcased through the incorporation of a mesh panel on the upper. While staying true to its predecessors: the Air Jordan 1 and 3, this model introduced key enhancements tailored for the basketball court moving away from a predominantly leather only sneaker. Crafted with performance as a focal point, the Air Jordan 4 boasted lightweight materials such as breathable mesh and synthetic leather, ensuring optimal agility and comfort for the time period. Notably, its padded tongue and enlarged Air unit in the midsole provided additional cushioning for players during intense gameplay.
In a notable crossover event in 2023, the Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 collaboration emerged, marking a significant venture for both brands. While the Nike SB line had previously explored collaborations with the Air Jordan 1 model, delving into the Air Jordan 4 represented a first venture into this territory for the Nike SB team. The outcome of this collaboration was the highly acclaimed Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 'Pine Green,' a release that captivated sneaker enthusiasts worldwide and swiftly earned the title of the sneaker of 2023 for many including us at Story.
For many the Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 'Pine Green' distinguishes itself as the perfect AJ4 as it addresses some key issues such as with a wider fit, a characteristic trait reminiscent of skate shoes. This unique feature not only enhances comfort but also pays homage to the roots of the Nike SB line. Following its resounding success in 2023, anticipation is high for the continuation of the Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 collaboration in 2024. Speculation is rife with rumours suggesting the release of several new colorways on the same silhouette.
It begs the question however, will SB Jordan 4s kill the demand and value of “normal” Air Jordan 4 releases?
You see, in the past three and a half years, the Nike dunk has made an outstanding resurgence in popularity and value… but has also made a very quick and outstanding drop in value in the same time. This is largely down to the SB line of the Nike Dunk. Sources show that the value of dunks have decreased by 20% in the past 6 months and the value of SB dunks have increased by a further 5%. Human nature often drives the notion of history repeating itself.. So will we see this unfortunate fate happen to the beloved AJ4 silhouette? Only time will surely tell

Awake NY's inaugural Jordan sneaker is poised for its long-awaited debut, marking a significant milestone for the Lower East Side brand. The collaboration with the Jordan Air Ship silhouette, hinted at in 2023 with a playful display in store, now steps into the spotlight with an official coming soon post.
Since its inception in 2012, Awake NY has been a vibrant player of the dynamic cultural tapestry that is New York City. Founded by Angelo Baque, a native of Queens, the brand has become an outlet for the city's diversity, drawing inspiration from its streets, people, and ever-evolving city landscape.
Each seasonal collection from Awake NY aims to honor the eclectic energy of downtown New York in the early '90s, by skillfully blending nostalgic elements with contemporary aesthetics that help keep the brand modern and new. From refined silhouettes to domestically-produced everyday essentials, the brand offers a wide range that reflects the multifaceted nature of urban life. Recent additions to their lineup, such as sweater vests, overcoats, and suits, have solidified Awake NY's position as a mainrunner for 2024
After exciting fans with glimpses and teasers, Awake is poised to unveil its first ever Jordan collaboration in full. Subtle previews of collaborative apparel to fleeting peeks at the Air Ship sneaker, the brand has successfully built anticipation. Now, the countdown begins as Awake prepares for the official release. March 9th is apparently the date set for when Air Ship sneakers and accompanying clothing line are set to launch, both online and in-store at the brand's Lower East Side location in New York. It's a moment that fans have been eagerly awaiting, promising an exciting fusion of Awake NY's distinct aesthetic. It's worth mentioning that Awake NY's Jordan Air Ship also comes in a blue colorway, as seen during the initial reveal in 2023. However, the second pair doesn't appear to be a part of the upcoming March drop.
The final product of both sneakers are covered with numerous branding moments that blend the essence of both brands. From the sleek silver Jumpman hang tag attached to the laces to the reptilian ankle and tongue proudly showcasing Awake NY and Nike's logos, every detail speaks volumes. Not to be overlooked, Awake NY's signature "A" motif is subtly stitched onto the toe box, adding a touch of sophistication. The intentionally yellowed sole infuses the Air Ship with a nostalgic charm, giving it a vintage appeal that resonates with sneaker enthusiasts. In essence, the Awake NY x Jordan Air Ship strikes the perfect balance between simplicity and flair, staying true to Awake NY's distinctive in-line designs while offering a refreshing twist that appeals to its devoted community, including notable figures like Rihanna.

One of the best Nike collabs of recent??? Maybe even a contender for early sneaker of the year?? Let us know your thoughts down below
The announcement of the Supreme x Nike Air Max Dn collaboration has sent some significant waves through the sneaker community, reminiscent of the strategic moves made by the Oregon sportswear giant in the early 2000s with the introduction of the Nike SB Dunk Low.
Much like its predecessor, the Nike SB Dunk, which debuted in 2002 with an honestly legendary collaboration with Supreme, this latest partnership marks a significant moment in more recent sneaker history. Backed by Sandy Bodecker and his team, the fusion of Supreme's urban aesthetic with Nike's innovative principles propelled the Nike SB Dunk into the spotlight of hustlers, instantly becoming a sensation in skate culture. Fast forward to today, the anticipation surrounding the Supreme x Nike Air Max Dn collaboration is comparable, hinting at yet another groundbreaking chapter in the annals of sneaker collaborations which is becoming quite rare these days.
Supreme's iteration of the Air Max Dn really does epitomise stealth.
Cloaked almost entirely in sleek black hues, the upper boasts a construction of breathable, tightly-woven mesh accentuated by additional taping around the toe region. Sitting brave and boldly below is a remarkably chunky Dynamic Air midsole, which is the first of its kind. The unmistakable Futura Bold logo, a hallmark of the skate label's identity, commands attention as it stretches across the lateral side of the shoe, leaving a mark of Supreme's signature style, very similar to the supreme air max plus TN.
Clint419, who I'm sure you all know by now is the founder of Corteiz, recently took to Instagram to unveil another striking pair of the Supreme x Nike Air Max Dn collaboration. Dubbed the "Silver Bullet '' edition, this one will pay homage to the iconic Nike Air Max 97 silhouette, renowned for its legendary silver bullet colourway.
The design of the Supreme x Nike Air Max Dn "Silver Bullet" edition features a grey base, reminiscent of the classic Air Max 97 aesthetic, matched with silver "Supreme" branding along the lateral side. Adding to this throwback nature, metallic silver accents grace the mudguard and heel, while vibrant red hues highlight the midfoot Swoosh of , tongue branding, and the Air unit of course. Notably, a white "Supreme" insignia finds itself inside on the Air unit, nodding to the brand's signature white-on-red motif.
Despite the anticipation surrounding this exclusive release, reports indicate that the second silver pair will remain a friends-and-family exclusive, with no plans for a public launch at present. However, given the unpredictable nature of sneaker releases, we advise to stay vigilant for any potential updates or announcements regarding the availability in the future as a third pair is rumoured.

Despite its relative newcomer status in performance wear, Reiss has seamlessly aligned with McLaren's quality and innovative style ethos. Centred around Reiss's design philosophy, the capsule collection for McLaren's team has uniform sophistication and functionality.
Is this collection a statement of what we could be expecting from McLaren on the track in this upcoming season???
Reiss's multi-year contract with the McLaren Formula 1 Team last year marked a pivotal moment for the fashion brand, starting its venture into the realm of sports partnerships and endorsements. Despite its relative newcomer status in performance wear, Reiss has seamlessly aligned with McLaren's quality and innovative style ethos. Centred around Reiss's design philosophy, the capsule collection for McLaren's team has uniform sophistication and functionality.
Through the utilization of precision processes and technical textiles, each garment somewhat mirrors the complexity of motorsport engineering. Reiss has since expanded its offerings to the public, the newly widened collection features an array of versatile polo tops and leather jackets, creating a balance between high-performance sportswear and retro fashion, and further merging the worlds of Formula 1 and luxury apparel that goes beyond just using an F1 car as an advertising board.
Therefore showcasing that this collaboration extends beyond the racetrack. Each capsule is crafted with a focus on detail and a unique style profile. The "Hype" range reimagines the McLaren on-track uniform with tailored lines and turns into everyday racing-inspired streetwear, featuring leather baseball jackets with a refined driver silhouette alongside resort shirts and knitwear tops. All items are brightened with tour-inspired prints in McLaren's iconic orange hue, offering a day-to-night aesthetic.
In contrast, the "Dynamic" and "Fan Wear" capsules offer a more literal interpretation of Reiss’s usual style with two-piece suits, jackets, trousers, and quilted gilets crafted from technical materials for enhanced functionality. These crease-free garments, reminiscent of the F1 Team capsule, provide a fit suitable for travel and on-the-go lifestyles, complemented by mercerised polo tops and jersey sweatshirts to create the engineered look many people have saved on their Pinterest boards.
It is safe to say Each capsule presents a fresh perspective on the McLaren uniform, which begs the question, why has it taken it so long for brands to collaborate with F1 teams does Reiss's versatility just work in this particular case or does this really showcase that there is a massive opportunity here for many luxury houses to jump in on with other teams on the paddock.
In conjunction with the collection launch, McLaren unveiled a new campaign that transports viewers into the heart of the McLaren headquarters. Against the backdrop of the state-of-the-art workshop, the video showcases the garments suspended within framed boxes, undergoing rigorous product testing facilitated by mechanical equipment. This immersive narrative highlights the soon-to-be connectedness of fashion and motorsport, illustrating their shared commitment to pushing the boundaries of craftsmanship and innovation.

Its collection spans from stylish hoodies and striking graphic tees to sleek jackets and accessories, all resonating with an innate sense of coolness that defies conventional fashion norms.
In the world of Rhude, the concept transcends just fashion; it embodies an entire ambience. Picture yourself amidst the lairs of a Mediterranean evening, lounging on the terrace of a grand Italian estate, the scent of fine cigars mingling with the breeze. It's a realm where luxury isn't just about clothing but the experience. For Rhuigi Villaseñor, garments and accessories play a supporting role; Rhude is a sentiment he embodies through his distinctive personal style, producing a sense of adventure.
Rhude Creator creator Rhuigi Villasenor has often described his brand in extremely adjectival ways that really contribute to the overall feel of ambient fashion he is trying to create.
Heritage is massive in the brand’s push for success. Rhuigi takes pride in his Filipino background and uses Rhude as a platform to live the so called American Dream. Starting his clothing brand is almost like his journey to America. From T-shirts as an illehal immigrant to high-fashion collabs as a Bell-Air resident, his project ebbs and flows his journey to the top.
“It’s modern-day American dream. But what is the American dream? It’s been so tarnished now. I stand for a much larger dream. I came to the U.S. undocumented, worked hard, and now I give jobs to people. I spent my first big check from Rhude to pay for an immigration lawyer. It was a slow burn, and I thought it could all fall apart. But not once was I scared, because I came from nothing”
Rhuigi’s trajectory in the fashion world took a turn when Kendrick Lamar wore his bandana shirt at the 2012 BET Music Awards, catapulting him into the spotlight and depositing a staggering $150,000 into his bank account almost instantly. The moment was surreal for Villaseñor, who recalls the emotional surge while driving around in his sister's worn Toyota 4Runner. Empowered by this windfall, he set his sights on a new endeavor, conceiving an entire line christened “Revolution”. Villaseñor's vision for Revolution, akin to what Yeezy represents today, proved to be ahead of its time, embodying the essence of contemporary fashion well before its rise to popularity in the mid 2010s.
Rhude has emerged as a premier choice among celebrities and influencers alike, solidifying its status as a go-to label for those craving a wardrobe that speaks volumes. Dressed by a plethora of notable figures, its collection spans from stylish hoodies and striking graphic tees to sleek jackets and accessories, all resonating with an innate sense of coolness that defies conventional fashion norms. Each piece effortlessly exudes an aura of individuality, encapsulating the brand's ethos of daring expression and freedom.

A compelling alternative to the lucrative StrangeLove x Nike SB Dunk from 2020, this dunk smartly swaps out the velvety uppers for a more conventional blend of leather and suede, ensuring its appeal caters for multiple seasons. Embracing the Valentine's Day spirit, the Dunk is completed with vibrant pink and wine-red accents, a hallmark of classic romantic footwear. The inclusion of ribbon laces, however, adds a distinctive touch that sets it apart from the rest of general release Nike Dunks. With Nike's reputation for delivering top-notch holiday-themed releases, the Nike Dunk Low Premium "Valentine’s Day" stands out as a decent pickup for those in love.
StrangeLove x Nike SB Dunk High "Pink"
As previously mentioned in 2020, Sean Cliver teamed up with the Swoosh to unveil the highly coveted StrangeLove x Nike SB Dunk High "Pink". Today, it’s renowned as one of the most coveted collaborations within the realm of skateboarding, this release boasted a next-level standard of uniqueness. Cloaked in the softest velour, it created a luxurious appeal, with an array of captivating features completed in its design. From the heart-shaped confetti embedded within the outsole to the embroidered skull graphic on the heel, each element added to its value. Widely regarded as one of the most hyped Dunk releases to date, the StrangeLove x Nike SB Dunk High "Pink" has secured its place in sneaker history. Although not expressly crafted as a Valentine's Day sneaker, its craftsmanship and undeniable charm warrant its recognition as a standout in any list of notable romance releases.
Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 992 "Pink"
Hailing from Chicago, Joe Freshgoods has rapidly become a standout figure in the fashion scene, and one of his most unforgettable creations remains his crimson rendition of the New Balance 992. Dubbed alternatively as the "No Emotions Are Emotions" or the "Anatomy of a Heart," this collaboration might not overtly scream Valentine's Day, but it made its debut on that very occasion. Filled in a rich spectrum of rouge hues, the 992 exudes a sense of luxury, solidifying its status as one of the most sought-after pairs in the market. Adding to its allure is the exclusivity factor – these kicks were exclusively released through a pop-up shop in Second City. The combination of premium craftsmanship and limited availability renders this pair an absolute must-have for every sneaker collector.
Girls Don't Cry x Nike SB Dunk Low "Varsity Red"
The cultishly popular Japanese graphic artist Verdy who is currently the stylist director for BLACKPINK teamed up with Nike SB in 2019 to create these Friends and Family dunks for Heart’s Day. This pair unfortunately released just before the great resurgence of the popularity of the dunk silhouette that started in 2020. With that said this release was still enough to ignite the sneaker community in a frenzy. Two official colourway releases were both limited to a Japan-only release. Both sneakers have primary red and grey colourways respectively with the “Girls don’t cry” tag on the side of the heel.
Adidas Stan Smith Valentine's Day "Active Red"
Wrapping it up, we have the Adidas Stan Smith Valentine's Day "Active Red", a standout release from the brand's extensive Valentine's Day collection in 2019. Amidst the other offerings, this particular sneaker stands out as one of the most coveted pairs from the lineup. While some brands struggle to pull off patent leather without appearing gaudy, Adidas demonstrates this execution pretty well in this release. Departing from the traditional Three Stripe perforations on the side panels, Adidas opts for a single white heart graphic, a design choice that you could say “captures hearts.” The result is a sleek and stylish sneaker that seamlessly blends romance with sporty elegance.

Throughout his career, he has consistently redefined each era’s dominating silhouette and colour palette. For close to two decades, he has been at the forefront of changing how we approach fashion and how we get dressed, leaving a lasting impact that transcends trends and influences generations.
How are we finding Ye’s project “Vultures” so far ????
As the world streams his newest album “Vultures”, Ye, also known as Kanye West, has not only revolutionised the fashion industry on a business level but has also left a bold mark on the way people dress. Throughout his career, he has consistently redefined each era’s dominating silhouette and colour palette. Whether it was popularising elongated tops, skinny denim, and suede Chelsea boots in the 2010s or introducing earth-toned tops with boxy, cropped fits through his Yeezy Season 1 line in 2015, Kanye has continuously pushed boundaries. For close to two decades, he has been at the forefront of changing how we approach fashion and how we get dressed, leaving a lasting impact that transcends trends and influences generations.
As Kanye gained popularity, his style began to change and follow suit in this exponential rise to fame. Early on in his career, he began to gain a strong liking (like many other rappers at the time) for skating-inspired brand Supreme and streetwear. There are photos of Ye wearing Supreme: a Surf Style-inspired hoodie and a Martin Luther King Jr. T-shirt the brand produced in 2003. For a newly emergent streetwear brand like LRG, identifying Kanye’s burgeoning influence on fashion helped it grow rapidly in the early 2000s.
The current VP of marketing at LRG who in 2003 helped to shoot Ye for LRG’s print campaign ads claims they were the first to capitalise on Ye’s album success.
“I feel like our own ascension as a brand was very parallel because right when The College Dropout dropped, boom, LRG in 2004 and 2005 really exploded. We doubled, tripled, and just went crazy.”
- Kevin Delaney, LRG
One of LRG’s most memorable products was the “Dead Serious” hoodie, a full-zip sweatshirt that resembled a skeleton that Ye wore to the Stella McCartney show at Paris Fashion Week in 2006. It was so popular that when LRG re-released it 15 years later in 2021, Delaney said they sold 10,000 units in six minutes just because of hardcore Kanye West and music fans remembering those hoodies from more than a decade prior.
Greg Selkoe who previously founded the streetwear company Karmaloop and is known for once being the president of FaZe Clan has shared his admiration for Ye, as he feels the artist is sometimes unfairly disrespected for not having conventional media-friendly views and takes.
“It was an exciting time for streetwear with musicians like Pharrell and Kanye elevating style to be as important as the music they created. You had people like Cudi and Lupe Fiasco wearing skinny jeans, doing what they liked, and not what society prescribed to them as the right ‘hip-hop’ look. It was a global phenomenon and people like Kanye exemplified verge culture at the time.”
- Greg Selkoe
Selkoe made an interesting point in an interview stating that it was possibly Kanye West who was the mainstay figure for mixing luxury brands with streetwear brands which ultimately has led to the historic confluent relationship the two styles have today.
“They(luxury brands) copied his general looks and started making more products that were accessible, style-wise, to a larger audience.”
- Greg Selkoe
Alongside the releases of2008’s 808s and Heartbreak and 2010’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Kanye opted for him and his crew to adopt a more sophisticated and high-fashion approach to their aesthetics. Kanye called for a return to etiquette and class by dressing his crew in sharply tailored Dior Homme suits as part of his “Rosewood Movement.”
On March 6, 2011, Kanye West made a bold statement at Paris Fashion Week by donning a now-iconic fit: a black Givenchy T-shirt featuring the rather fierce image of a rottweiler mixed with his face emblazoned across the chest, paired with sleek black leather pants. This was a significant departure from his previous style which was usually characterised by tailored Dior suits and extravagant accessories during his Rosewood era. Instead, Ye embraced an edgy aesthetic centred around the monochromatic attention of all-black everything. Integral to this transformation was the creative direction of Riccardo Tisci at Givenchy, whose vision resonated deeply with Kanye's evolving fashion sensibilities. This synergy between artist and designer was further underscored in August of the same year with the release of "Watch the Throne," a collaborative album with Jay-Z, featuring cover art designed by Tisci himself. The album's gold cover echoed Tisci's graphic output at Givenchy, stamping the fusion of music, fashion, and art in Ye’s narrative. Designers like Heron Preston and The Hundreds made their own graphic T-shirts nodding to the rottweiler design.
While this particular era of fashion may not have aged as gracefully as others, there’s no denying its influence at the time.
“Talking about Kanye's influence on fashion is like talking about God's influence on creation.”
- Jesse Einhorn, StockX
Going into the mid-2010’s probably marks Kanye West’s most influential time as an icon. The Wes Lang-designed Yeezus tour merch that debuted in 2013 shifted the way artists treat merch and the way fans wear it and birthed one of the most successful brand-artist collaborations of all time with Ye x Adidas.
In 2015, following his signing with Adidas two years prior, Kanye West unveiled Yeezy Season 1 at New York Fashion Week, marking a significant evolution in his personal style. Departing from his previous liking for flamboyant pieces, Yeezy introduced a revolutionary aesthetic which featured monotone, flowing, earth-toned sportswear. The collection featured an array of garments ranging from roomy T-shirts and bombers to women’s bodysuits, along with the inaugural footwear designed by Kanye for Adidas. Upon its release, Yeezy Season 1 garnered widespread acclaim and found its place in prominent retail outlets and was one of the highest-selling collections in resell history. From esteemed department stores like Barneys to boutiques such as A-Ma Maniére and Social Status they all were in on Yeezy, solidifying Kanye's influence not only in fashion but also in shaping contemporary streetwear culture.
Some would say that Kanye’s post-Kardashian era is his least favourable and relatable era of yet, but it seems that Ye has proven people wrong.
“He's nearly 50 and still influencing kids half his age. Literally, I was walking in New York City a few months ago and saw dudes wearing Balenciaga Crocs and were covered from head to toe,”
Ye’s collaborative album with Ty Dolla $ign is currently number 1 in 47 different countries at the time of writing proving that his influence on the world is still bigger than ever.

https://www.story.capetown/blogs/news/introducing-saint-michael2024-02-09T10:12:52+02:002024-02-09T10:12:53+02:00Introducing: Saint MichaelAdam Jordan MoosaIntroduced through mutual connections, Yuta Hosokawa and Cali Thornhill Dewitt embarked on a journey that birthed Saint Michael. Unveiled in Paris of January 2020, the brand showcases their dualistic ideal vision: a fusion of streetwear essentials with a distinctly weathered, time-honored aesthetic that provides consumers with a tactile and analog experience.
If you're not yet familiar with READYMADE , it seems you've been residing under a rather uninspired rock for the past half-decade. This celebrated Japanese label, born from the creative mind of Yuta Hosokawa, has been transforming drab US Army surplus gear into coveted fashion pieces, complete with adorable Kermit frogs fetching prices upwards of $500 ( Exactly… How have you not heard about it? )
With a triumphant finish to 2019 marked by a collaboration with Diesel Red Tag, Hosokawa now has his sights set on a new transcontinental venture with Cali Thornhill Dewitt, aptly named Saint Michael. And let us assure you, it's nothing short of extraordinary.
For those who do not know of Dewitt, his association with Kubo from Tokyo's GR8 may ring a bell, or perhaps his collaborations with none other than Mr Kanye West, now formally known as Ye. Introduced through mutual connections, Hosokawa and Dewitt embarked on a journey that birthed Saint Michael. Unveiled in Paris of January 2020, the first collection showcased their ideal vision: a fusion of streetwear essentials with a distinctly weathered, time-honored aesthetic.
"We process everything by hand. We are trying to create a new street style, and the keyword is vintage. It is totally different from READYMADE; it is a new brand. Each piece is different."
- Yuta Hosakawa
Indeed, the pieces exude character, offering a refreshing departure from the mundane offerings saturating today's market.
Collaborating seamlessly, Hosokawa and Dewitt breathe life into each garment, infusing them with a sense of history. Take, for instance, the 30-thread cotton hoodies, distressed in a large drum tumbler, perfectly showcasing Dewitt's distinctive religious iconography and rebellious punk motifs.
“I’m all about vintage clothing, and I dig through documents from the past and discover many things.”
- Yuta Hosakawa
Both Hosakawas and Dewitt’s independent fashion sense blend perfectly together to create a confluence that exuberates a tactile feel onto every Saint Michael piece that is hard to replicate in today's market.
“So really touching things, feeling things, it’s a different way of experiencing things and we are all used to experiencing digitally right now. But there is always another generation, and you give them something analog and they are really excited.”
- Cali Thornhill Dewitt
When the analog and tactile graphical approach of St. Michael is mentioned it's difficult to not think of another brand that has recently emerged in the streetwear scene. That being Sofia Prantera’s Aries. Aries has steadfastly forged its own path, guided by a bold aesthetic and an irreverent attitude making them a perfect suitor for a collaboration with Dewitt’s brand.
The two brands come together and form a range of meticulous hoodies, crews and jackets which are extremely hard to come by.

Do we think integrating NFTs into fashion is a good idea??? 🤔
KITH has once again pushed the boundaries with its latest venture, a collaboration between Kith's visionary Ronnie Fieg and digital artist Markus Magnusson of Invisible Friends.
The realms of physical fashion and digital art come together in an ambitious project known as "Kith Friends." This ambitious endeavour seeks to blur the boundaries between the tangible and the virtual collectible world using artistry and blockchain technology to create a collection of digital collectibles.
This ambitious project sees the release of 8 1/1 and 3 larger edition NFTs through the OpenSea platform. Each NFT depicts a distinctive character created by Invisible Friends, adding a touch of creativity to the digital landscape. These characters will not only be crucial to the Kith for Invisible Friends collection which was launched in February 2023 but also the ASICS collaboration with Ronnie Fieg, further stamping down this idea of integrating digital fashion into real-world apparel.
Obviously just like with NFTs, the allure of Kith Friends lies in its exclusivity. Only those who have purchased the project's NFTs will have the privilege of purchasing items and accessories from the Kith for Invisible Friends collection. This unique model ensures that NFT holders are not just passive collectors but active participants in the fashion experience, fostering a sense of community and engagement within the digital fashion ecosystem. In addition to exclusive access to the collection, NFT holders will receive additional perks, including a bomber jacket, a crewneck, and a cap at no extra cost. These rewards serve as incentives of appreciation for their support to the project, further motivating the value proposition of owning Kith Friends NFTs.
The Kith and Invisible Friends collaboration is also driven by social impact. All proceeds from the sale of NFTs will be donated to the Kings Against Violence Initiative, a Brooklyn-based nonprofit organisation dedicated to combating youth violence in New York City. By aligning their efforts with a worthy cause, Kith and Invisible Friends put forward a project that impacts the fashion world but through a philanthropic approach.
You were able to purchase these NFTs on a hub created on Opensea, which is one of the go to marketplace for purchasing NFTs. This centralised hub offers all the necessary guidance for navigating the world of digital fashion and securing a coveted spot in this collaboration, adding to the exclusivity.
If you unfortunately missed out on any of the KITH INVISIBLE FRIENDS items, be sure to checkout our website while stocks last.

The Air Jordan 1 Low OG "YOTD" is not just a sneaker; it's meant to be a symbol of growth, success, prosperity, happiness, and abundance, embodying the powerful traits associated with the dragon. What are our thoughts on these?
In celebration of the Chinese zodiac's Year of the Dragon, Jordan Brand is set to release a Jordan 1 low that pays homage to the mighty celestial creature. The Air Jordan 1 Low OG "YOTD" is not just a sneaker; it's a symbol of growth, success, prosperity, happiness, and abundance, embodying the powerful traits associated with the dragon.
The Air Jordan 1 Low "YOTD" features a captivating palette that weaves together a Sail midsole and an upper filled with Cedar, Oil Green, Light Pumice, and Dark Red hues. The shoe's foundation is crafted from Sail leather, serving as a canvas for the Green scaled leather overlays that gracefully nod to the revered wood dragon. The intricate detailing pays homage to the dragon's majestic presence in Chinese culture. To add the dragon’s auspiciousness the Dark Red accents adorn the Swooshes, embroidered Wings logo on the Golden heel tabs, "Nike Air" tongue labels, and a set of laces. These carefully chosen colors enhance the visual appeal and symbolize the prosperity and good fortune associated with the Year of the Dragon.
Choosing a pristine sail midsole goes further than creating a clean and classic look that complements the overall design. It is supposed to symbolize traditional Chinese milk sweets given around Holiday festivities. The Green rubber outsole adds a vibrant touch while ensuring durability and traction. As a final touch to this extraordinary release, the Air Jordan 1 Low "YOTD" comes packaged in a specially designed Year of the Dragon-themed box including a traditional Chinese Red Envelope or Yasui.
Inside, the Air Jordan 1 Low "YOTD" offers a luxurious experience with a refined Light Grey satin lining, offering a bit more quality making the sneaker feel more special. The comfort and attention to detail within the sneaker reflect the premium quality that Jordan Brand seems to be going for in these annual CNY releases, creating a harmonious balance between style, wearability and cultural significance.
One of the oldest CNY traditions is to be out with the old and in with the new. In recent times this is achieved by a new outfit or clothes and the Air Jordan 1 “Year of the dragon” is a great lucky symbol for the start of the new Chinese Calender.
The sneaker is releasing on February 6 on the Nike SNKRS website with no word of a local retailer release as of yet.

Jordan 4 Black cat expected to be released in one year??!” Well… sadly probably not.
Chances are we'll be getting AT LEAST one of them however, you guys rocking with these?
Okay okay, we know what you're thinking, “rumours of an AJ5, AJ3 and a SB
Jordan 4 Black cat expected to be released in one year??!” Well… probably not.
You see, colourways play a pivotal role in capturing the attention of enthusiasts and collectors and Jordan Brand has always been able to consistently strike a balance between introducing new aesthetics and reviving iconic looks and sometimes unfortunately the sneaker leakers get it wrong (or just a bit wrong). One such series that has gained significant traction over the years is the all-black "Black Cat" finish, which started its journey on the Air Jordan 4 in 2006 and has since made its mark on various other silhouettes, including the 6 and 13. With all the confusion however, we think it's safe to say we are getting at least ONE new Jordan Brand silhouette adorning the Black Cat colourway, which is really enough.
The anticipation and motivation for the Jordan 5 is heightened by a mock-up image shared by the two reputable leakers, offering a glimpse into the potential design. While a detailed description of the colourway is yet to be unveiled, expect a sophisticated edgy blend of black and very dark gray throughout the sneaker. The forthcoming Air Jordan 5 "Black Cat" is anticipated to be labeled as an SE release, suggesting that it will likely feature a nubuck upper. This choice of material not only adds a luxurious touch to the sneaker but also aligns with that sleek and stealthy aesthetic associated with the "Black Cat" series. The use of nubuck often enhances the overall texture and provides a unique tactile experience for the wearer.
As of now, we sadly have to wait and comply with Jordan Brands bipolar tendencies to be transparent and remaining tight-lipped with the public. However expect these to arrival in around September-October 2024.

Excitement is building among the sneaker community as Jordan Brand prepares to launch its latest iteration of the iconic Air Jordan 3. Set to make its debut next month, the Air Jordan 3 Craft is poised to captivate sneakerheads with its fresh and sophisticated "Ivory" colorway. In an exclusive first look provided by Masterchefian and NiceKicks, fans are treated to a glimpse of this refined and stylish sneaker that seamlessly blends classic design elements with modern aesthetics.
The Air Jordan 3 Craft's "Ivory" colour palette showcases a “craft series” inspired combination of ivory, grey mist, and cream hues. The tumbled leather on the upper takes centre stage, accentuating the shoe's elegance. Perforations on the collar add a touch of sophistication, providing a subtle yet distinct detail to the overall design. The smooth leather mudguards and suede overlays on the toe and heel create a harmonious interplay of textures, offering both a tactile and visual contrast that elevates the sneaker's aesthetic appeal.
Noteworthy are the aged semi-translucent hits on the eyelets and heel guards, adding a vintage touch to the Air Jordan 3 Craft. The heel proudly showcases the iconic Jumpman logo alongside the classic Nike Air branding, paying homage to the rich heritage of the Air Jordan line. These details not only nod to the sneaker's heritage but also infuse it with a sense of timelessness. With this iteration apparently being part of the Jordan Craft line, this one promises a comfortable and supportive fit with more premium materials. The ivory midsole not only complements the overall colour scheme but also ensures a cushioned and responsive ride. The semi-translucent rubber outsole adds a modern twist to the design while providing excellent traction, making these sneakers not only a fashion statement but also a practical choice for everyday wear.
This iteration is poised to become a sought-after addition to the Air Jordan legacy. Whether you're a seasoned collector or a casual sneaker enthusiast, the Air Jordan 3 Craft in "Ivory" promises to be a timeless classic. Will we see more Air Jordan’s join the Craft and SB wave?

Timberland, the seasoned American workwear brand with over seven decades of history, made an unforgettable statement at Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2024 in Paris. While many brands strive to dominate Fashion Weeks through sponsorship and sheer visibility, Timberland's unique approach and transparency set it apart. This year, no brand claimed Paris Fashion Week quite like Timberland, with its iconic 6" boot, affectionately known as "Timbs," taking center stage.
What distinguished Timberland's strategy was its upfront clarity about its goals, and remarkably, it proved to be highly successful. The brand's presence at FW24 was not just about fashion; it was a strategic move that resonated with both enthusiasts and trendsetters alike. Timberland's impact was undeniable, and its signature 6" boot, the "Timbs," became the most visible shoe throughout the event.
The buzz began on January 12 when Louis Vuitton's menswear design team casually teased a collaborative Timberland boot overseen and worn by creative director Pharrell Williams. The mere mention of this collaboration led to a significant spike in Timberland-related searches, with Google Trends revealing nearly doubled inquiries on that day alone. Top queries included "Timberland Louis Vuitton price" and "Pharrell Timberlands."
The collaboration between Louis Vuitton and Timberland became a major cultural moment, reminiscent of other iconic partnerships like LV x Nike. Timberland could have easily rested on this , as an LV collaboration is a highlight for most companies. However, Timberland seized the momentum, continuing to make waves throughout FW24.
Timbs full of sparkling sequins graced the runway at Wales Bonner's FW24 show, making appearances at two other collaborators' presentations. Timberland's triumph was further underscored by the coincidence of favorable weather during Fashion Week, almost as if fate itself intervened to ensure the prominence of Timbs. As of the time of writing, Timberland is capitalizing on its success with a "Je T'imbs" banner proudly displayed on its website's front page.
Fashion Week often serves as a platform for brands to generate buzz around new endeavors. Still, Timberland's decision to double down on a shoe already deeply ingrained in popular culture gave them an early lead in capturing attention. The Louis Vuitton collaboration was undoubtedly a catalyst for free press, but Timberland's 6" boot had already established itself as a venerable cultural icon.
The success formula for Timberland included the one-two-three punch of the LV collaboration, timely partnerships, intelligent activations, and the inherent appeal of Timbs. Even as first-look images of Drake's second Timbs collaboration circulate online, Timberland's moment in the spotlight is far from over.
As part of the conglomerate that operates Supreme, The North Face, and Vans, Timberland has demonstrated its strategic prowess. In the fast-paced fashion industry, a brand is only as good as its last big moment, and Timberland's Timbs is undeniably having a huge moment right now with the promise of more to come.

A Ma Maniére founder James Whitner has recently sent the sneaker community into a frenzy with a sneak peek at what is believed to be the boutique's next highly anticipated collaboration with Jordan Brand. The collaboration features the second iteration of the iconic Air Jordan 4 silhouette, but in a reversed colourway much like the Dusk and Dawn A Ma Maniere Jordan 5s from last year.
Capturing James Whitner himself sporting what is presumed to be the A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan 4, the sneaker boasts a captivating pink-ish hue that covers the entire upper, creating a striking and eye-catching aesthetic. Complementing this bold colorway are brown and sail hits on the midsole, adding depth and contrast to the overall design.
Detail-oriented sneakerheads will appreciate the thoughtful touches incorporated into this collaboration. The A Ma Maniére branding makes a statement on the heel tab, cementing the authenticity of the partnership and adding an extra layer of exclusivity to the sneakers. It's these nuanced details that set collaborations apart and elevate them into hyped collector's items. In addition to the Air Jordan 4 collaboration, there are whispers of another collaboration featuring the Air Jordan 3. While details on the Air Jordan 3 collaboration remain shrouded in mystery, the mere mention of a second collaboration has intensified the excitement surrounding A Ma Maniére's partnership with Jordan Brand.
In addition Sneaker Freaker has brought the exclusive scoop on an unreleased A Ma Maniére x Nike Air Max 95 collaboration, providing a glimpse into the unique fusion of Nike's iconic design and A Ma Maniére's signature style. The Air Max 95 is presented in a palette of varying gray and pink hue tones, staying true to the synonymous A Ma Maniére design ethos. A Ma Maniére's rendition of the Air Max 95 introduces subtle yet striking design elements. The panels are separated by a distinctive zigzag stitch, creating a visually dynamic and textured look. A Ma Maniére's iconic embroidery is prominently featured along the toe, offering a nod to the brand's attention to craftsmanship and detailing. This venture into Nike Sportswear territory is not A Ma Maniére's first rodeo. In 2019, the boutique delivered a multi-shoe Nike Air Force 1 collection, showcasing the brand's ability to infuse its distinct aesthetic into various Nike silhouettes. The success of past collaborations only heightens the anticipation for what A Ma Maniére has in store for fans with the Air Max 95 partnership.
As of now, there is no confirmed release information for the 95s but they should be expected in the last Quarter of 2024.

When Crocs announced that Salehe Bembury, the creative director behind the brand's Pollex division, would be leading their venture into the world of sneakers, expectations were undoubtedly high. However, the debut sneaker, the Juniper, has proven to be anything but conventional. Designed to challenge preconceived notions, Bembury's creation marks a significant departure from the iconic Crocs clogs that have become synonymous with the brand.
First and foremost, the Juniper deviates from the norm by not utilizing the familiar foam material, Croslite, found in Crocs' signature clogs. This unexpected material shift immediately sets the Juniper apart from its more traditional counterparts. The sneaker is also not a wipeable slip-on, a characteristic trait associated with classic Crocs. In essence, the Juniper challenges the very essence of what it means to be a Croc.
Contrary to the bulbous clogs that have defined Crocs for years, the Juniper sneaker introduces a more streamlined and contemporary silhouette. One of the few features reminiscent of the classic Croc design is the presence of ventilation holes on the toe, albeit in a scaled-down version compared to the familiar Classic Clog. The rest of the shoe, however, seems to belong to an entirely different universe of footwear design.
If not for the unmistakable Crocs branding on the tongue, hangtag, and interior, one could easily mistake the Juniper for a creation from another avant-garde sneaker label. Salehe Bembury's distinctive touch is evident in every detail, showcasing his reputation for pushing the boundaries of conventional sneaker design.
Despite its departure from the traditional Crocs aesthetic, the Juniper embodies a unique and progressive product that aligns with Bembury's adventurous design philosophy. In a triumphant return to his hip-hop consortium roots, Williams unveiled an inaugural collection that felt like a luxurious revival and continues with a third fashion show and Timberland collab in 2024.

Fast forward to 2023, and Pharrell Williams took a groundbreaking step as he assumed the role of men's artistic director at Louis Vuitton. In a triumphant return to his hip-hop consortium roots, Williams unveiled an inaugural collection that felt like a luxurious revival and continues with a third fashion show and Timberland collab in 2024.
Recognising the opportunity’s transformative power, Williams articulated a dual mission for his newfound role. First, he pledged to share his wealth of knowledge as a perpetual student, emphasizing a commitment to learning and growth. Second, he expressed a profound desire to share his love and appreciation, choosing to shine a light back on his city, his people, and the friends who had supported him throughout his journey. He stated, “In moments like this when you’ve been chosen to do something, the sun is shining on you.” Williams posed a poignant question, asking what one would do with the light when it shines upon them. His answer is a testament to his commitment to sharing his newfound brilliance - using the platform to impart his learnings as a perpetual student and expressing love and appreciation. "I’m choosing to shine a light back on this city, these people, all my friends here, who have kept me lifted all this time,” Williams affirmed.
Timberlands have taken over the Northern Hemisphere’s Winter Season and the Louis Vuitton x Timberland boots, as revealed on social media, are a striking fusion of luxury and rugged functionality. Crafted from wheat nubuck, these work boots feature embossed Timberland and Louis Vuitton logos on the tongue. The true magic, however, lies beneath the surface, flipping the tongue reveals a carefully pressed LV monogram pattern on the soft suede. A subtle yet distinct touch, the LV monogram is also lightly stamped around the boots' upper, showcasing the attention to detail that defines this collaboration. Pharrell, known for his distinctive vision, has previously introduced bespoke elements to Louis Vuitton menswear. The "Millionaire" Speedy bag, a signature piece in his collection, was exclusively available as a made-to-order item for VIP clients. This emphasis on exclusivity and personalization is likely to remain a core aspect of Pharrell's creative direction for Louis Vuitton menswear.
While the Louis Vuitton Timberlands may initially be perceived as a one-of-a-kind creation for Pharrell, speculation arises about a potential wider release. Drawing comparisons to Virgil Abloh's successful limited releases, particularly the LV x Nike Air Force 1 sneakers, industry observers predict the Louis Vuitton Timbs could be made available through exclusive pre-orders for VIP clients. This strategic approach aligns with the unique blend of streetwear aesthetics and luxury craftsmanship that Pharrell continues to bring to the forefront of Louis Vuitton's menswear line.

Japanese culture and streetwear culture go hand in hand and what more screams Japan like Anime? Over the years, Anime-inspired sneakers have been extremely limited but somewhat overlooked by non-Tokyo dwellers. Asics and Naruto seek to try and reignite the interest this year by kicking off with a new Gel NYC Collab.
Touching down at the ASICS online store for its debut on January 11, the Naruto GEL-NYC was poised to hit the market in more abundant quantities, ensuring a plentiful supply of ASICS x Naruto brilliance for fans of both the silhouette and the Anime. These sneakers boast a primarily black hue, elevated by accents in Naruto's distinctive orange and fuchsia shades. Additionally, the collaborative touch extends to the tongue and dubrae, while toggle-fastened laces add a unique touch elsewhere on the shoe.
With Asics kicking off 2024 with a great Anime linked release, let’s take a look back at some of the best Anime x Sneaker releases from the past
Slam Dunk x Air Jordan 6
Slam Dunk stands out as an absolute classic, captivating old-gen anime fans with its exhilarating storyline and memorable characters. However, for the newer generation of anime enthusiasts, the spotlight often falls on "Kuroko's Basketball." Bridging the gap between these eras is Takehiko Inoue, a celebrated Japanese manga artist known for his iconic Slam Dunk basketball franchise. In a weird confluence, Inoue's admiration for basketball legend Michael Jordan comes to the forefront in Slam Dunk. The anime's fictional character, Hanamichi Sakuragi, and his teammates were frequently depicted showcasing their skills in various Js, establishing a unique connection between the world of anime and the basketball icon. This connection was made even more obvious with the real-world introduction of the Air Jordan 6 "Slam Dunk." The Air Jordan 6 "Slam Dunk" pays homage to both basketball and anime in a visually striking manner. The sneaker boasts a vibrant red colourway that immediately catches the eye, serving as a canvas for a plethora of reflective 3M illustrations extracted directly from the Slam Dunk anime. Each intricate detail on the shoe tells a story, bringing to life the energetic spirit of Japanese animation.
Nike Air Max 98 "Gundam"
Nike revived the iconic Nike Air Max 98 "Gundam" in 2018, originally released in 1998. For those unfamiliar with the term "Gundam," it refers to a renowned anime and manga series introduced by Yoshiyuki Tomino in 1979, characterized by its colossal robots known as "Gundam." Despite the fascinating confluence of worlds, it's disheartening to note that the Nike Air Max 98 variant inspired by Gundam wasn't an official collaboration. Instead, it resonated with the aesthetics of the ZGMF-X42S Destiny Gundam robot, featuring bold and striking red, blue, yellow, and black tones. While not an official partnership, the sneaker pays homage to the captivating realm of Gundam, blending anime-inspired style with the iconic design of Nike's Air Max 98.
Dragon Ball Z x adidas
In 2018, the Three Stripes paid homage to the beloved Toei Animation franchise with the release of the Dragon Ball Z x Adidas collaboration, featuring seven distinct Adidas models inspired by fan-favourite DBZ characters. The collection showcased iconic colourways representing characters such as Vegeta, Majin Buu, Cell, Son Gohan, Shenron, Frieza, and the legendary Saiyan, Goku, embodied in the Adidas ZX 500 RM. Each pair was presented in a uniquely themed shoe box, struck with graphics that formed an illustrative homage to the manga. Acquiring all seven pairs became a quest reminiscent of "The Seven Dragon Balls," and devoted Dragon Ball enthusiasts went to great lengths to complete their collection, understanding the profound significance embedded in the collaboration. For those initiated into the lore, it was more than just sneakers; it was a fusion of sportswear and the legendary Dragon Ball narrative. Anime fans get very hectic when it comes to lore, so this one was HYPE!
Nike Air Trainer III ‘Optimus Prime’
In 2007, when Michael Bay brought the iconic Transformers series to life in a blockbuster film, Nike responded with a special theme collab, showcasing the remarkable 'Optimus Prime Air Trainer III. This initial collaboration mirrored the strength and allure of the Transformers franchise itself. Subsequent Transformers x Nike releases may not have matched the impact of the inaugural instalment, but that hasn't deterred other brands from exploring their interpretations. The 'More Than Meets the Eye' ethos is palpable in this particular colourway, featuring an unmistakable scheme and Autobots branding. Adding a touch of late-night allure, the sneaker incorporates reflective 3M details, ensuring it shines bright in the dark, capturing the essence of the iconic Transformers universe.
